Our CSR Initiative - Some Bruises You Don't See

While this job is enjoyable with a hint of mischievousness, significant responsibility accompanies it. We aim to emphasize the subtle complexities of relationships and human connection as well as collaborate with a charity on home turf in addressing and supporting crisis in intimate and familial relationships.

Relationships involve real feelings and emotions, making them complex. They require a level of mature responsibility. A healthy relationship is not unilateral and is not laced with tactics of emotional manipulation.

Emotional manipulation in a romantic partnership could look like: love bombing, gas lighting, bread crumbing, ghosting, negging or any other form of emotional manipulation. It's easy to mistake some of these behaviors as signs of affection, especially in the early stages of a relationship.

Emotional manipulation in a familial relationship could look like an attempt to control someone else.  You can generally boil it down to one common behavior: Someone wants you to give up someone or something — time, a personal possession, autonomy, power, or anything else — for their benefit.

Recognizing manipulation within families can be particularly difficult when the person is a parent, child, relative who has some authority or the age old guilt of divorced/separated families which is more common than one would think and particularly within the more entitled bracket.

When someone abuses you, it hurts and overtime it takes its toll.  Nobody should be relegated to the status of a human punching bag.  Nobody.

The core of mental health is flexibility.  The less healthy the personality the less flexible they are.  Mental healthiness in our psyche is adaptability, accountability, self-awareness and awareness of others.  It's the ability to engage in novel problem solving. When there is disappointment or stress they have the capacity to cope with it.  They are able to self-regulate, self-soothe, empathize and be compassionate.

Some bruises you don’t see.  We are thrilled to be joining a charity which focuses on abuse in their volunteer program and our intention is to help people identify, manage and heal emotional trauma be it from an intimate partner, friend, child, parent or a wider circle of acquaintances.

In preparation for our volunteer role, we have taken a deep dive into learning from the best in biz. Check out Dr. Ramani's YouTube vids and books. They are next level in learning about human personality, connection and interaction.
