Sex Toy Cleaners
Buying a great sex toy is an investment — and like any investment, it is worth protecting. A good sex toy cleaner is not an optional extra. It is an essential part of owning toys responsibly, keeping them body-safe, extending their lifespan, and ensuring every experience starts fresh.
At Pleasure & Intimacy, our sex toy cleaner collection covers every format and every need — antibacterial sprays, foaming cleansers, and convenient wipes — all specifically formulated for use on intimate products and safe across a wide range of toy materials.
Why you need a dedicated sex toy cleaner
Soap and water alone is not always sufficient for cleaning sex toys, and standard household cleaning products can be actively harmful — leaving chemical residues on the surface of a toy that will then come into contact with the most sensitive tissue on your body. A dedicated sex toy cleaner is specifically formulated to remove bacteria, body fluids, and lubricant residue without leaving any trace of irritants or harsh chemicals behind.
Toy cleaners are also designed to be safe across a wide range of materials — silicone, glass, metal, ABS plastic, and elastomers — whereas some household products can cause surface degradation, discolouration, or chemical damage to certain materials over time.
Toy cleaner sprays
Spray cleaners are the most popular and convenient format for everyday toy maintenance. A few spritzes on the surface of your toy, a wipe down with a clean cloth, and the job is done — no rinsing required in most cases. Spray cleaners are ideal for non-motorised toys that can be fully submerged, as well as vibrators and motorised toys where getting water into the charging port or seams is a concern. Brands in our collection include Sliquid, Intimate Earth, and JO — all of which produce reliable, body-safe spray formulas.
Foaming toy cleansers
Foam cleansers offer a more thorough clean for toys with textured surfaces, ridges, or any surface detail that a quick spray-and-wipe might not fully reach. The foam penetrates into the surface detail and lifts residue more effectively, making it particularly useful for realistic-texture toys, anal beads, and any toy with complex geometry. Apply, work into the surface, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely before storage.
Toy cleaning wipes
Wipes are the most portable option — ideal for travel, for a quick clean between uses during a session, or simply for convenience when you want the process to be as simple as possible. They are pre-saturated with a body-safe cleaning formula and disposable, making them hygienic and effortless. Worth keeping a pack in your bedside drawer alongside your toys.
How to clean your toys properly
Apply your cleaner of choice to the full surface of the toy immediately after use — do not leave it until later, as residue becomes harder to remove once dried. For non-motorised toys and waterproof vibrators, a rinse with warm water after cleaning adds an additional layer of thoroughness. Once cleaned, dry the toy completely with a clean cloth before storing — moisture trapped in storage bags or cases can encourage bacterial growth. Store toys individually in clean, dry bags away from other toys, particularly silicone toys which can react if stored in direct contact with each other.
Material-specific cleaning notes
Non-porous materials — silicone, glass, stainless steel, and hard plastic — are the easiest to clean and the most hygienic, as bacteria cannot penetrate the surface. Porous materials — elastomer, rubber, jelly, and some cheaper plastics — are harder to fully sanitise and are best used with a condom for both hygiene and longevity. If you are unsure of your toy's material, check the product description or contact our team.
