World Mental Health Day is observed annually on October 10th, highlighting the significance of mental health and wellbeing. This global event aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and promote support and understanding. One crucial factor instrumental in maintaining good mental health is the presence of healthy and supportive relationships.

What are the most essential ingredients in successful relationships? Is it love, respect honesty, or communication skills?  We believe all of the above. 

Healthy, supportive relationships play a pivotal role in our overall well-being. They provide a sense of belonging, acceptance, and emotional validation. When we are surrounded by individuals who genuinely care about us, it positively impacts our mental state, self-esteem, and resilience.

Having someone to share our joys, sorrows, and daily challenges with can significantly alleviate stress and anxiety. Supportive relationships offer a safe place for individuals to express their emotions without fear of judgment. This kind of emotional support is invaluable, as it fosters a sense of security, trust, empathy, respect and love.

Healthy relationships provide a network of encouragement and motivation. Individuals with supportive connections are more likely to set and achieve personal goals, leading to a greater sense of purpose and satisfaction in life. These relationships serve as a buffer against negative influences and can provide an environment conducive to personal growth and development.

Everyday, it is crucial to emphasize the importance of healthy, supportive relationships. These relationships promote mental well-being, resilience, and personal growth. As individuals, we should strive to foster strong connections with our loved ones and be receptive to supporting others in their mental health journeys. Building and nurturing these relationships creates a more compassionate and understanding society, shedding light on the significance of mental health in our lives.

Most of us have been through heartbreak. Whatever your circumstances are, we ask that you prioritise your mental health.  If you're in a relationship and your needs are not being met or you are not being respected or supported the way you deserve you need to ask yourself if this is the type of relationship you want to be in.  You deserve someone who loves and cherishes you and who sees your value and what you bring to the table. You deserve someone who will be in your corner supporting you the way you support them. We are creatures of meaning.  The essential reason for connecting with another is feeling like we matter to the other person.  We are seen and supported. I matter. You matter.  You want good for me like I want good for you. I got your back and you've got my back!  Love is not a game.  Don't settle for someone whose so callous with your heart, your feelings, your love, loyalty and commitment.  You deserve someone who says 'lets fix this' when you're going through challenging times and you deserve someone in your corner and who will prioritise you, love you, and who will know how fortunate they are to have you by their side.  Today and everyday, prioritise your mental health.  Nurture yourself and remove yourself from situations not serving you.  You have done the best you can with the best intentions.  Go forward knowing that! 

If you're not in a relationship and you really want to meet your person, remember, you will.  Give it time.  The right person will come along who will be gentle with your heart and who will love, support, advocate for you and respect you the way you deserve.  Keep going!  You're amazing and you've got so much to give.  You've got this!
